How Legacy Path Advisory collects, uses, and retains personal information from enquiries and client work.

Data controller

Legacy Path Advisory is the controller of personal information collected through nodeindex-core.digital and through our succession planning engagements. Contact: info@nodeindex-core.digital, Level 6, 22 Customs Street East, Auckland 1010, +64 9 555 7520.

Information we collect

  • Enquiry forms: name, email, consultation interest, optional handover stage, and message content
  • Client engagements: contact details, business context, and notes needed to deliver counsel
  • Technical data: standard server logs and, if accepted, analytics cookies described on our cookies page

We do not ask for IRD numbers, full trust deeds, or bank credentials via the public form. Share sensitive documents only through agreed secure channels once an engagement begins.

Purposes

We use personal information to respond to enquiries, deliver consultations, invoice for work, improve our website experience, and meet legal record-keeping duties.

We handle personal information in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 principles—collecting only what we need, using it for stated purposes, and taking reasonable security steps.

Retention

Enquiry messages that do not become clients are typically retained for up to 24 months, then deleted or anonymised. Client files are retained for at least seven years after engagement close, or longer if required by law or professional obligations.

Sharing

We share information with:

  • Service providers who host email or site infrastructure under confidentiality expectations
  • Your nominated solicitor or accountant when you ask us to coordinate
  • Regulators or courts when legally required

We do not sell personal information.

International transfers

Some infrastructure providers may store or process data outside New Zealand. Where that occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure overseas recipients protect the information comparably, including contractual safeguards where appropriate.

Your rights

You may request access to personal information we hold about you, correction of inaccuracies, and—in certain cases—deletion of enquiry data. Email info@nodeindex-core.digital with “Privacy request” in the subject. We respond within a reasonable time consistent with the Privacy Act 2020.

Security

We use access controls, secure devices for advisors, and careful handling of family-sensitive notes. No method of transmission is perfectly secure; please avoid sending highly confidential documents through the public contact form.

Children

Our services are directed to adult business owners and advisors. We do not knowingly collect information from children through this site.

Updates

We may revise this policy as practices or law change. The published date of the page reflects the current version.
